I have a 1975 corvette stingray and i want to drastically improve its performance in every way possible.?
I drastically want to improve its mpg. I also want to supe it up. I want to increase the horsepower because it currently feels like i'm driving a Ford Taurus, which is very dissapointing. This is my dream car so think big or small; it doesn't matter. I'll take any info.
what you are asking for, is something hard to find...more horsepower and better gas milage usually push you in opposite directions. I have 3 corvettes including a 1975 coupe. The 75 was a low horsepower year, but it should still feel better than a Taurus lol although dont mistake the difference between a carb and fuel injection in compensating for horsepower "feel". Assuming your engine is stock and untouched since 1975, it probably shows the effects of being 34 years old...an engine rebuild and/or cleaning/updating of your fuel system and ignition system would probably help you in both areas, as would replacing the motor with a fresh crate motor if you are not concerned about numbers matching..they are the easiest fixes, although not the cheapest necessarily, but horsepower=money LOL and new aftermarket replacement components are more fuel efficient than NOS 1975 parts...
