My roommate from Freshman year was from Trinidad and always talked about hot doubles being amazing back where he's from. I still to this day have no idea what he's talking about and haven't been able to find anyone who knows what a hot double is. All that I know is that they are popular and sold typically by street vendors.
I was watching Anthony Bourdain in Trini, and he focused on the hot double. It is a fresh made light bread, made fresh in front of you on the street, and topped with fillings like fresh beans and other things, if you google it you may be able to find the episode and exact fillings. As it was awhile ago, but it looked dee-lish!!
