The 2008 Honda Accord gives consumers a taste of style and class in the budget sedan category. This model year has been entirely overhauled both inside and out to keep up with the many competitors it must deal with. Honda added a lot more room on the interior without making it oversized on the outside. Perhaps the most remarkable addition is the more powerful lineup of engines that can actually give consumers far better gas mileage than previous models. The only aspect that may be viewed as somewhat negative is the accessory button console that is somewhat complicated.
Having to compete in what is possibly the most popular car market, the Accord's new look and features are more than able to hold their own. While it has always been known as a reliable vehicle, it remained on the small side in stature and although it had great fuel economy, was slightly underpowered. Thankfully these issues have been addressed. New 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines are offered for the 2008 Accord that produce more power and either have similar or better fuel economy. Consumers will also be proud of the fact that they have one of the most stylish mid-size family sedans on the market. The in-line 4 cylinder engine puts out a whopping 190 horsepower (best in class), while the 6 cylinder equipped models put out 200 horsepower.
Trim packages offered include a great assortment. They are the LX, LX-P, EX and EX-L for sedans, and coupe models come in a choice of LX-S, EX and EX-L packages. Basic LX models the essentials including remote keyless entry, basic power accessories, and 16 inch wheels for style. Stereos in the basic models are also impressive with a 6 speaker audio system powered by a CD/MP3 player combination. LX-P packages are further complimented by amenities like power controlled driver seats, along with an in dash 6 CD changer stereo system.
EX models come with 17 inch wheels as standard equipment, the CD changer stereo, and coupe models have an upgraded stereo system complete with a subwoofer. Consumers looking for the ultimate in luxury will have to get an EX-L trim level model. ALL EX-L models come with dual climate controls, full leather upholstery, automatic headlights, and a satellite radio system. Optional on all upper level trim packages is a navigation system that can be activated by voice commands, and has Bluetooth connectivity.
Inside quality has always been the highest in class, and the 08 Honda Accord is no exception. Overall quality and feature arrangements make it very pleasant, comfortable, and easy vehicle to drive. The rear seat area is the largest in the class as well and offers more than ample room for passengers to stretch their legs on long trips.
As far as handling is concerned the Accord does very well. There is a blend of sport style handling combined with a sturdy suspension system that gives drivers ultimate control in virtually every situation. Another important feature to note is that sound reduction materials have been added to protect the occupants from road noise which is now virtually non-existent.
In closing, the 08 Accord is one of the best choices in the mid-size family sedan category. It truly is hard to say that it lacks in any category, especially not in styling.
