350sbc running hot on left bank and cool on the right?

350 with vortec heads, dual plane intake, 600 edelbrock carb, hooker headers, silvolite pistons .040". when i start the engine it fires up and runs like complete crap, will not idle, and will only run when the throttle is pumped, one bank the headers are too warm to touch after 40 secs of running and the right bank are just lukewarm. when I flip the throttle and look at the butterflys when the engine is off there is no spray, it is more like a weak dribble, is this normal as vacuum is needed to draw the fuel? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

It sounds like you are using an old carb that needs to be rebuilt. Buy a carb rebuild kit,clean the crud out of it,replace the accelerator pump,set the float level and you should be out doing burnouts in about an hour!
