Unit Renault

my husband has a 98 renault clio. he has had a leak in the sunroof of the car and now today he can't open the? car with the central locking. if he opens it with the key the alarm goes off and then when he tries to start the car it wont start because of the immobiliser. what can he do to get this sorted out. can he disconnect the immobiliser and get it working? what if the unit dries out would it start working again. he is so depressed its driving me mad. what can he do to get this car working? The unit should dry out eventually, but when it rains again it will happen again ! The best thing to do is try and locate the cause of the water leak, it maybe the aerial that is the problem as this is directly above the key receiver unit. I would get the aerial removed and some silicone sealer put on the aerial base before refitting it to the car. Also try drying the receiver unit and put it in a plastic bag to protect it just in case water is still getting in to the car.
